Due to the economy, many people in our communities who still work or have fixed incomes have lost their residences. Some were renters who found themselves on the streets when foreclosures went through. Others cannot keep up with the rising costs of living and find themselves living in their cars or in expensive weekly motels. We offer temporary but affordable housing that includes opportunities for meals and social services at no additional cost. We are able to house these individuals and families for up to 28 days at a time, enabling them to save their money and find affordable, long-term housing. Our social workers are trained and aware of all the opportunities available to these people to find the assistance they need. The goal of the program is to aid these people in finding permanent, affordable housing here in our community. This Transitional Living Program lifts a large segment of this population out of homelessness, people who might otherwise fall through the cracks due to a lack of knowledge of the resources which are available to them.
