Grossmont Adult School recognized five students
On May 3, 2019, Grossmont Adult School recognized five students who had earned special awards for their hard work and achievements during the year. Cindy Touchette, a graduate of the ECTLC Women’s Program, was honored as one of three Outstanding Students of the Year.
Cindy entered our program in July of 2017. Having never graduated from high school, her only employment was in kitchen or custodial lines of work. Cindy has had to overcome many obstacles in her life including being homeless for over 11 years! It would have been easy to quit, but she succeeded in completing all phases of the ECTLC discipleship program and was baptized in July of 2018. For the last few months, Cindy has been hard at work studying for her high school equivalency test -- a nearly overwhelming task for her. In addition to being selected as an Outstanding Student of the Year, Cindy was part of the graduation ceremony at ECTLC on June 11, successfully earning her High School Equivalency Certification. We congratulate and celebrate Cindy’s dedication, focus, and accomplishments in completing the year-long ECTLC program AND her academic success!
