Emergency Shelter

Participants join the ECTLC community and find shelter in a safe, clean room.

Emergency housing may be available—please contact us for further information. The goal—enrolling in a long-term program.

At ECTLC, an individual or family can escape the danger and despair of living on the streets. Participants join the ECTLC community and find shelter in a safe, clean room. Free from many dreadful challenges of homelessness, they have the opportunity to focus on developing a plan with trained counselors to chart their paths forward.

Dedicated professionals provide emotional support and expert guidance. The goal is to place participants into long-term programs--the first step on the road to becoming contributing members of our communities. Program members may choose to enter one of our programs, or a case manager will help them find a program suited to their needs.

This vital program is funded primarily through HUD Community Development Block Grants administered by the City of El Cajon, California. With the grant, we operate the program during the cold-weather months. Our goal is to run this crucial program year-round. For that, we need the support of foundation grants and other partners. Emergency Shelter is a secular program.

Welcoming these individuals and families into a temporary haven gives us the opportunity to help them develop a future of hope and success.

I am happy to be in a safe place with my own room. We are happy here.
