Family Restoration

FAMILY SERVICES

Thousands of struggling homeless families have found refuge at ECTLC through our programs. We provide more than just food, showers, clean clothes, and a safe place to stay.

28 DAY EMERGENCY SHELTER PROGRAM

Our 28-day emergency shelter provides homeless families with a clean safe room and 3 meals daily. The family will meet with a case manager weekly to seek after additional resources and determine a unique and effective exit plan. At the end of the 28 days, and after 4 case management meetings completed, the client's performance will be reviewed for goals met.

They will be given an opportunity to enroll in our Transitional Living program or our Family Restoration Ministry. The 28-day emergency shelter is funded by CDBG Community Development Block grants through the City of El Cajon and Foundation Grants such as Copley and private donations from our community partners.

FAMILY RESTORATION MINISTRY

Struggling homeless families can find refuge through our Family Restoration Ministry. We provide more than just food, showers, clean clothes, and a safe place to stay. Additionally, a case manager is assigned, and mentors each family guiding them on the path towards independent living and permanent housing. Other resources are also available, including classes and tutoring for GED, money management courses, mentorship, and even vocational training.

Single and two-parent families can come off the streets into a safe and clean environment. At intake, each family meets with a case manager and an individualized plan is developed. School-aged children are immediately enrolled in school. Family members attend biblical studies and classes in life skills, anger management, financial literacy, parenting, and Celebrate Recovery.

Job search resources are provided, including GED certificate preparation and testing. Counseling is available to married couples singles parents, and children. The program is based on a four-phased one-year long program depending on the needs of each family.

After the end of the ministry, the families transition to independent living in our community as productive members of society breaking the cycles of homelessness.
