A Message from our CEO, Harold Brown
Updated: Apr 11, 2020
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Therefore we will not fear. Psalm 46:1-2
In these days of uncertainty we have found a greater purpose. While we make every attempt to abide by the requirements set by our County, we find an opportunity to share the peace and comfort that are afforded to us through our faith. There are many occasions for us to share love with those that are hurting and strengthen those that are afraid by introducing them to a Savior that will bring comfort to them throughout all their days.
ECTLC has been blessed abundantly in the past few months. We have received awards from the Chamber of Commerce as the Non-Profit of the Year, we were chosen by the ATT Pioneers as their Non-Profit of the Year, and I am honored to say that I was the recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award. We are humbled to be selected out of the many worthwhile charities that were included in the nominations.
We also were excited to host our very own first Generosity Series 5K Walk/Run in San Diego. It was a beautiful day at a perfect location. We appreciate the work that Generosity put into providing all of us with such a professional, fun experience. We are looking forward to next year 2021 and we are expecting you to join us. We will be sending out an invitation as soon as details are settled.
The event we are most looking forward to is The Mayor Bill Wells and friends benefit concert to be held at The Magnolia in El Cajon, it will be rescheduled to a later date, along with a Silent auction and a VIP Meet and Greet. We will be sending out new invitations very soon.
Life at ECTLC goes on, everyone here is safe and healthy. We are still serving the daily needs of those who trust us to care for them. Our expenses during this time have increased due to necessary restrictions that the schools have had to put in place, many of those that are employed have been laid off, and every one of our rooms are full. Our food costs, utilities, and many other necessary expenses have increased dramatically.
Our work therapy programs are numbered by the inability to work. We have an urgent need to meet the deficit we are facing today and for the next few months. If you are able to help us, please do so by giving to our emergency fund today. We are grateful for your support and we pray that you and your loved ones will remain safe and healthy, together we will prevail.
